MESSAGE FROM THE EDITOR

The Comforting Power of Comparing Statistics

We all know how comforting it is to compare statistics to other statistics. Our economy is often compared to that of our giant neighbor and largest trading partner. But, as you'll read in this issue, the Canadian economic landscape is defined by the thousands of SMEs who imagine new solutions, create employment, and help integrate workers from elsewhere. It's a study about the importance of innovation, and perhaps shows that the best comparisons are with ourselves - it's how we get better.
Happy reading!
