The Board of Directors of the Electricity Distributors Association (EDA) has appointed Teresa Sarkesian President and Chief Executive Officer, effective March 1. Sarkesian joined the EDA in 2009 as Vice President of Government and Member Affairs and has led the Policy and Government Affairs Team over the past five years. Among her successes, she spearheaded an industry response to sector review, pushed for greater scope expansion for LDC business through Bill 112, and enabled LDC interests to prevail in the new conservation management framework. She has over 25 years of experience in policy development and advocacy both in government and the private sector.

“Ms. Sarkesian’s appointment signals a new chapter for the EDA and builds on a strong foundation of gains that the association has achieved for its members in representing the distribution sector in legislative and regulatory arenas for well over a century,” says EDA Board Chair, Raymond Tracey.

“The EDA Board also extends its gratitude to John Loucks, who was appointed to lead the organization while recruitment was underway and to whom the organization is indebted for his strong leadership and success during this time,” says Mr. Tracey. Loucks will continue as a member of the EDA’s Executive Leadership Team.
